I watched every movie in the Children of the Corn franchise, and here's my take on it. The series started strong with the 1984 original, a decent horror movie that closely followed Stephen King's short story. It made a good amount of money and set the stage for sequels. However, the franchise took a turn for the worse with the second installment, 'Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice', which was rushed into production and felt all over the place. The series continued to decline with each subsequent film, losing continuity and originality. The later movies were generic, forgettable, and often felt like a placeholder for a franchise that needed to keep its rights alive. The 2009 remake, however, was a breath of fresh air, with a strong cast and a more faithful adaptation of the original story. Overall, the Children of the Corn franchise is a cautionary tale about the dangers of rushing into sequels and losing sight of the original vision. It's a series that should have ended with the first movie, but it's still worth watching for completionists and King fans.
